How to Use an Orange Zester
- 1). Remove any stickers on the outside of the orange. Rinse the orange under running water and pat dry with a paper towel or set it aside to air dry.
- 2). Place a cutting board on a flat surface. If you do not have a cutting board, a bowl or paper towel will work. You need an object that will catch the orange peelings.
- 3). Hold the orange firmly in one hand. With your dominant hand, drag the zester across the orange's rind using quick strokes and a medium to firm pressure. Start at the top of the orange and pull the zester down toward the bottom.
- 4). Tap the zester on the cutting board to release any peelings. Continue until you have zested the entire orange or have enough peelings for your recipe.
