1996 Oldsmobile Aurora Specs
- A single powerful V-8 engine provides thrust. The 32-valve, twin cam motor displaces 4.0 liters and produces 250 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. torque at 4,400 rpm. The only transmission choice was a four-speed automatic with overdrive. Independent suspension is standard front and rear, with an electronic self-leveling system for the rear shocks. The brakes are front discs with rear drums.
- The 1999 Aurora is a large sedan at 205.4 inches long and 74.4 inches wide, riding on a 113.8-inch wheelbase and having a 3967-lb. curb weight. The interior has leather seating for five, and features such technologies as dual-zone climate control and illuminated rear-view and vanity mirrors with an auto-dimming feature.
- The 1996 Aurora went from zero to 60 mph in 8.2 seconds with the quarter mile coming in 16.1 seconds, decent numbers for such a large car. Fuel economy is good for a V-8 engine at 17 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
