    Rectanglular Flags

    • The most popular praise flag type used is the rectangular flag. The standard size is two feet wide by three feet long. The rectangular shaped flag is placed on a wooden or plastic dowel which makes it easier for the flag team to wave. Various fabrics are used to make this such as silk or nylon. These light and airy fabrics allow the flags to flutter while they are waved about. These rectangle-shaped flags can come in different colors which signify something different. Scarlet represents healing. Purple flags represent the royalty of Christ. White represents the purity of living a forgiven life, and repentance

    Heraldic Flags

    • Heraldic praise flags hearkens back to days gone by. Kings on the battlefield often used heraldic flags to announce to the soldiers that the king was in residence. Christians bolster their confidence in God's presence by brandishing these heraldic praise flags. These flags are quite large and are made with bright, beautiful colors. While they can be swung in worship, they are often so large that they need to be placed on a stand when not being used. You might see emblems on the flags like a lion or lamb. Other symbols you might see are Christ's crown of thorns and the cross. This style of praise flag can be used during special events like revivals or service to mark the beginning of the service.

    Swallowtail Flags

    • The swallowtail flag has a tapered end. Often created with bright, bold colors, swallowtails are one of the most beautiful praise flags. These multicolored flags are beautiful in motion. Praise teams wave them on wooden dowels. Swallowtail flags have a fluttery tail, like that of the bird called the swallow. These are often not very large flags, but make pronounced fluttering sound.

    Half-moon Circle Flags

    • Smaller flags are sometimes half-moon shaped. A half-moon circle flag has a rounded edge with the flat side butted up against the dowel or holder. Praise flag worshipers often use two half moon circle flags, one in each hand.
