Digestives are usually alcoholic beverages served in small quantities after a copious meal. Besides the nice mood they induce, digestive drinks help the body to digest the consumed food more easily. Compared with the appetizers, which are used before the meals to stimulate appetite, digestives must contain a higher alcohol level. Many believe that the white or transparent drinks must be consumed as appetizers, and the dark are the perfect for the end of meals.

Digestive liqueurs are sweet drinks flavored with various herbs, seeds, fruits, nuts, honey and other secret additives. Liqueurs are served at room temperature or cooled with ice. They can also be incorporated into cocktails. Creams and drinks are considered digestive liqueur. Creamy consistency is obtained by adding sugar.

There are even digestive cocktails served at the end of a meal. The art of these drinks is to put the ingredients directly in glass, carefully and in a precise order so that they do not overlap the colors. To realize this, it is used one coffee spoon. Typically, these drinks are served in small glasses with a foot. They may be prepared in a cocktail glass, adding pissed ice.
