How to Get a Credit Card With a Cosigner
- Wells Fargo, like most banks, offers credit cards with a cosigner.
- A family member or close friend with whom you have a good relationship is the best person to ask when looking for a cosigner. He or she needs to be employed full-time and have a good credit score to qualify because she will be responsible for missed payments on the credit card.
- Your cosigner would be the primary cardholder on the account, and you would be an authorized user.
- Make an appointment with the bank. To complete the credit card application, you and your cosigner must visit a branch to speak with a credit representative.
- Bring along two forms of identification, such as your Social Security numbers and driver's license or passport. You will also need to provide your employment and residential information, phone number and contact information for one personal reference. Most applications take seven to 10 days to process.
