How to Air Dry & Dehydrate a Habanero Pepper
- 1). Put on a pair of rubber gloves, which prevent your skin from being irritated by the oil on the peppers.
- 2). Clean the habanero peppers by washing them thoroughly in water. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 3). Thread a large needle with a length of butcher's twine.
- 4). Push the needle through the stem of each habanero.
- 5). String the habaneros on the butcher's string, leaving enough space for each pepper to hang freely.
- 6). Remove the needle and knot the loose ends together. You now have a habanero pepper garland.
- 7). Hang the garland in a cool dark place for two to three weeks and allow the peppers to dry up. The peppers are fully dry when they are hard to the touch and rattle when shaken.
