The Reason Your Husband Cheated
Usually, if asked, they'll come up with some lame excuse that you can tell isn't the real reason.
When a relationship starts getting a little tattered around the edges and a man starts to feel unappreciated, he'll start looking for the newness and interest they originally had.
Call it a crime of manhood, call it egotism, call it whatever you want.
The main reason a man starts looking at other women is because he's looking for something he's not getting from his current relationship.
The most common thing he's looking for is a feeling of admiration and a feeling of being wanted.
See, when two people start out in a relationship, women are very good at showing men that they really are interested.
Smiles, giggles, makeup, the occasional "accidental" touch.
He feels great about the whole thing.
As time moves on, like it always does, she doesn't feel like she has to work so hard.
It's usually a slow process.
It starts with a couple of days going without make-up, or wearing sweats around the house all the time.
She doesn't feel like she needs to "reel him in" anymore, because he's already "in".
She rolls her eyes at his stupid jokes instead of a courtesy laugh.
Men don't leave because they find a better option or a prettier, younger, thinner girl.
They leave because they feel that hole where those feelings of respect and admiration used to be.
Men will talk a lot about "nagging" and how it drives them nuts.
The truth is it's not so much the words coming out that causes the annoyance (which, incidentally, is actually a cover up for the hurt they feel).
The trouble comes because he feels like he isn't admired, that she sees him as wanting, that she doesn't want what he has to offer.
It eats away at the back of his mind, whether he's conscious of it or not.
I'm certainly not implying that the reason your husband cheated is because it's his wife's fault.
I'm just trying to convey what's going on in his mind, without defending or condoning any actions that may or may not have taken place.
The truth is, making him feel appreciated and wanted is the best way to prevent him from cheating.
