1. Eat Whatever You Want (Within Reason)

Apparently there is no scientific correlation between chocolate (or any other food for that matter) and acne. So don't feel guilty when you eat some pizza or a Snickers. Though some people have stated that certain foods can make acne worse, the solution to that is, simply don't eat those foods. You wouldn't eat peanuts if you were allergic to them would you? Now, I'm not saying go on a chocolate frenzy but it' not going to make your face break out.

2. Excessive Washing Of The Face Will Make Your Acne Go Away.

No it won't, it can actually make your acne worse. Washing your face too hard and too often with soap, grainy face scrubs, or chemical based cleansers can lead to increased inflammation, redness, and more sever breakouts. Use a daily facial cleanser that is most importantly free from any chemical bases or artificial fragrances, and made from the finest all natural ingredients that are strong enough to kill acne causing bacteria, while being light enough for the most sensitive of skin.

3. Acne Is Forever

Here is another very common misconception. Acne is very treatable and will definitely go away if treated properly. It is in no way physically halting, except for the embarrassment that some people may feel as a result of their acne. Though some people very well may experience acne in to their adult years, with proper care and the right treatments, you can be on your way acne freedom.

4. Stress Causes Breakouts

Again, here is an urban legend that just doesn't want to go away. Stress may very well increase hormone levels in the body, but that doesn't necessarily mean that those hormones are going to make acne worse. A quality all natural acne treatment is enough to overpower stress any day. You should be taking the time to find out what will work for you, and not feeling guilty about stressing. We all stress out, it's ok.

5. The Sun Will Clear Up Acne

The sun will appear to clear up acne because it reddens the skin, making it toned with acne which is red due to inflammation... The truth is that though you skin may not feel physically burned it is still damaged. Sunburn may seem like a temporary band-aid, but in the following weeks of healing, acne tends to be worse and more painful. Make sure to wear an all natural, non greasy sun block whenever in direct sun light, especially on those acne prone areas.

So there you have it, some of the most common acne urban legends. Instead of worrying about what's true and what's not, take the time to find out what works best for your problem and solve it.
