I found out about this campground on the PA state parks Web site, and I RV camped there in July 2006.
Describe your camping trip:
Sites were partially sunny and partially wooded, beautiful views and clean restrooms.
Pros: The park also has a great pool, a lake for non-motor boating, disk golf, and a great park naturalist program. The staff and other campers were very friendly. However, our absolute favorite is that several PA state parks have a leisure ministries program, which conducts church services on Sunday mornings, and we really appreciate that.
Cons: Well, my husband did get poison ivy, but that's what you get when you trek in the woods.
Nearby attractions: Tons. We attended the German Festival in Kutztown the weekend we were there, but there are also many day trips from the area: Crayola factory tour, Sesame Street theme park, Amish Country, train museum, not to mention all there is to do in Philadelphia.
Further comments:
We camped here several times when we lived in the area. We even had a family reunion there. Even though we no longer live in the area, I envision our returning to camp here. It has everything you would want from a camping experience.
