Use of Nintendo Wii Controllers & Miscarriage
- The main controller is the Wii Remote. It is made to feel like a remote control, and contains the Wii's motion-sensing technology. It can be used in a number of ways to simulate different motions such as boxing, tennis or driving. The Wii Remote can be connected with the Nunchuk controller through a connecting cord. The Nunchuk has one button and a joystick to allow for character movement while doing tasks with the Wii Remote. It also contains the motion-sensing technology, further expanding upon the game play of the Wii Remote.
- The Wii Remote can be used in one of four positions: horizontal, vertical, with the Nunchuk, or with the Classic Controller. The basic way to use the controller is in the horizontal position. In this position, the Wii Remote can be pointed at a specific point on the screen. The user can create movement on the screen by moving the controller from side to side or forward and backward. These motions can be combined with the pointing and clicking to grab hold of an object in the game and drag it across the screen. The Wii Remote can also be moved in a twisting motion to create specific movements in the game.
- Before a Wii Remote can be used it must be synchronized with the Wii system. First, turn on the console. Open the SD Card Slot cover, located on the front, and remove the battery cover from the Wii Remote. Press and release the SYNC button on the console, then press and release the SYNC button on the remote. When the LED player light on the remote stops blinking, the synching is complete.
- A non-functioning Wii Remote can often be solved by making sure you are within three to 10 feet of the TV screen, and that there is nothing interfering with the Wii Remote's connection to the sensor bar. If this fails, try the following steps: Turn off and unplug the Wii console. Turn it back on, and open Card Slot cover and press the SYNC button for 15 seconds. This will clear all Wii Remote syncs so that you can resynchronize the malfunction remote. If the remote continues to malfunction, refer to Nintendo's support website for solutions to more specific issues.
- Nintendo tries to make a point of of wearing the wrist straps at the beginning of most of their games, but still, remember to keep the Wii Remote wrist strap secured around your wrist. The wrist strap is connected to the bottom of the Wii Remote; simply slide your hand through the loop and synch the strap lock so it is secure. This will prevent the controller from slipping out of your hand and possibly damaging itself or another object in the room.
