How to stop your cat from peeing all over the house
You have just adopted a cat and it now pees everywhere in the house and on your carpet? in this article we will see a few steps that will help keep your cat from peeing outside it's litter box!
1 - Clean the area where the cat has peed (we assume it's the carpet) the smell should be COMPLETELY REMOVED.
2 - Pour some apple cider vinegar mixed with water (a little vinegar and a lot of water) near the area.
3 - Make sure the litter box is not in the center of the room where it is installed or in any visible spot. Ideally it should be hidden in a corner far from the eye (like in the corner of the kitchen).
4 - Wait until you catch the cat trying to pee again in the same place and spray it with water while yelling at it so that it associated this event with peeing in that place.
5 - Make sure the litter box is clean (okay, not too dirty), cats hate when their litter box smells bad because they are stupid and they think predators will smell them and come eat them (miam miam xD).
5 - If the above doesn't work, it means you need to move the litter box to another place, the cat seems to find the current place unsuitable (or is maybe angry for something and tries to make you know:).
I hope you find this useful, if you have any trouble just be imaginative, the goal is that the cat associates bad experiences with peeing outside the litter box, everytime it tries to do it you need to do something instantly. Normally this behavior disappears quickly and the cat gets used to its place. Some people even succeed to train their cat to go alone to the toilet!
Good luck.
