Association of American Educators Grants
- All educators can apply for the classroom grant. The grants are competitive; members of the AAE receive additional points during the scoring process. Proposed classroom activities and projects must occur from September 1 to August 31 of any given calendar year. Educators can use the grant to buy classroom materials such as art supplies, audio-visual equipment, books, calculators, lab materials and math manipulatives.
- As part of the grant application, applicants must provide the grade level and subject taught, name of their school and district, school contact information; the name of the school principal, superintendent and public relations officer (if applicable); the amount of funds requested (to a maximum of $500) and a brief summary of the grant request. Applicants can submit the application via mail or online. Classroom grant applications are due by March 1 or October 1 of each calendar year.
- Applicants must also submit a copy of their professional resume and a project proposal. The proposal should contain a detailed description of how the educator plans to use the grant funds, and an itemized list of necessary classroom materials for the proposed project. In addition, applicants must provide a sample lesson plan that clearly describes how the grant project, activity or materials are integrated into the lesson plan. The lesson plan should state how the grade level or subject standards are fulfilled by the lesson plan. Members of AAE must also include a statement describing their reasons for having a professional membership with AAE.
