Custom Hair Replacement: Making Sure You Get What You Pay for
When you're spending in the 4 figures on a hair piece and going to a physical salon, you really don't have a whole lot to worry about – other than price. Usually for obscene prices like this you can be pretty well sure you're getting a full custom hair replacement. On the flip side, just because the piece is full custom doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a good deal. Unless you're dead set on getting European Virgin hair in your hair piece, there really isn't any way to rationalize a price tag of over 1000 dollars.
When you're trying to find a good deal on custom hair replacement, you really need to shop around wisely. The last thing you want is to start paying custom prices for stock hair. There's nothing wrong with ordering stock hair systems at all. The problem is that some hair replacement companies are using unethical business practices and misrepresenting stock hair pieces as full custom. This isn't fair to consumers and all it accomplishes is lining the pockets of greedy hair replacement vendors. The first thing you should look at is the quality of the hair piece. It should look brand new. If the base has been visibly cut down, this is a pretty clear sign that your hair replacement company did not order a hair piece using your custom base measurements. Base size is very important to get right, and one of the top reasons why custom is necessary for many hair wearers. If your hair replacement company is simply cutting down a stock piece and selling it to you as custom, you aren't getting a fair shake. Another thing to be wary of is delivery time. Usually custom pieces should take at least 4 weeks in production. Often this can be closer to 8 weeks. Some hair piece manufacturers do allow for rush services, so a 4 week delivery time isn't always the case, but if you're noticing that your custom hair pieces are consistently ready very quickly, this may be a red flag. The last thing to really take note of is color. If you're ordering a custom hair replacement, your hair should be matched perfectly to a sample. If you're getting custom hair pieces that aren't matching your properly, this is a clear warning sign that you're not really getting your money's worth.
