How to Fix a Drip Inside a Kenmore Refrigerator

    • 1). Get the food out. Remove all food and drinks from the fridge and freezer. Place perishables inside a cooler filled with ice.

    • 2). Unplug. Whenever you are working with any electrical item, it is best to unplug the unit it from the power source. This will insure that you do not accidentally electrocute yourself.

    • 3). Find the defrost drain. The defrost drain should be a round hole or hose running along the floor of the freezer. Depending on your make and model of refrigerator the defrost drain could also be located at the bottom back of the freezer. You may have to remove the evaporator cover to gain access to it. If you still cannot locate the drain hole, consult the manual that came with your refrigerator.

    • 4). Remove debris. Once you have found the defrost drain remove any debris such as ice or mold that has accumulated in the drain hole. A pipe cleaner or wire pushed inside the drain hole can help to remove debris.

    • 5). Flush it out. The easiest way to flush out the drain is to use a turkey baster. Fill the turkey baster with hot water and blast it into the hose. This will force out anything that is clogging the hose.
