I found out about this campground online, and I tent camped there in June 2005.
Describe your camping trip:
After passing moose on the way to the campground, we were excited for a great weekend. We reserved a campsite (#5) on the big island on Lake Umbagog. We chose to canoe out the 2 miles instead of taking a motor boat ferry offered by the campground. Some sites are over 10 miles across the lake, so canoeing may not be an option for some.
Pros: The site was wilderness at its best. Friendly ground squirrels abound, howling loons roosting at night, great fishing abound, and of course the scenic beauty of New Hampshire.
Cons: none
Nearby attractions: Hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking, wildlife viewing.
Further comments:
I will be returning again.
