Set Your Writing Goals!

It is very important for you to establish your writing goals.
This will keep you concentrated on your writing and desire to achieve what you've set up at the beginning.
Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about your ideal future, and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality.
The process of setting goals helps you select where you want to go regarding your writing.
By knowing precisely what you want to accomplish, you know where you have to focus your efforts.
You'll also quickly spot the distractions that can, so easily, lead you astray.
By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals, and you'll see forward progress in what might previously have seemed a long pointless grind.
You will also raise your self-confidence, as you recognize your own ability and competence in achieving the goals that you've set.
Once you have determined a goal and you think you know why it appeals to you, you are ready to write it in a way that will help you make it happen.
Studies of successful people have shown that they write goals that contain similar elements.
To write a goal like winners do, be sure that: - It is written in a positive way.
(eg.
I will...
" not, "I might "or "I hope...
") - It is obtainable.
(Be realistic, but don't sell yourself short.
) - It involves your behavior and not someone else's.
- It is written.
- It includes a way to measure successful completion.
- It includes the certain date when you will begin working on the goal.
- It includes a pre-set date when you will reach the goal.
- If it is a big goal, it is divided into manageable steps or sub goals.
- The projected dates for working on and completion of sub goals are specified.
All right! Now that you know how to set your writing goals, you can begin sketching the ones for your book.
How big in pages do you want it to be? When will you start-end the manuscript? Where do you want to sell it? Would you like for the book to be worldwide available? How about some TV or Radio interviews where you are invited to talk about your book? Would you like that? Write it down, write it all down and put then these goals somewhere you can see them every day.
