• Common side effects arising from the regular use of Tamsulosin may include runny nose, inflammation of the sinuses, mild insomnia, general weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, cough, back pain, vision changes, and decreased sexual ability. Serious Side Effects

• Drugs.com reports that users of Tamsulosin have experienced the following side effects in rare instances: fainting, chest pain, fever, painful erection, persistent soreness of the throat, chills, irregular heartbeat, and severe dizziness. Severe allergic reaction may also be associated with the use of this medication. If any of the preceding side effects arise, be sure to seek immediate medical attention as these side effects are extremely serious.
  
  

Usage and Storage

• Always take this medication exactly as prescribed to you by your doctor. Never alter the size of the particular dose or duration of your use. Tamsulosin should be taken thirty minutes after eating at the same time each day with a full glass (8 oz.) of water. Never crush or chew the tablet as doing so can trigger an inappropriate release of the drug. Store this medication at room temperature and away from heat and moisture.

• Before driving or operating heavy machinery, be sure to recognize how the drug may affect your judgment and alertness. Drugs.com warns against driving within 12 hours after the first dose. Tamsulosin should never be used by women. The use of alcohol can worsen certain side effects of the medication.
