Surfing on the internet for over 20 years, it has been to my dismay to see that not much has changed when it comes to marketing to women.
I see people blasting ads all over the place, no person behind the products, and mostly, one way communication that would stop any red blooded woman from coming back to wherever they have arrived.
Do you see the guys out there making $10,000 a month on products you thought would never sell - they get it.
One guy I have followed for years sells high end spa products like "tweezers" and earns more from that blog site a day then most people do in a week.
Some guys understand how to market to women in a big way and have capitalized on that marketing niche that is still sitting in the dark ages.
Don't get me wrong - I have had to learn a few techniques myself because most of the people I had been following were predominately men.
With a few tweeks in my marketing plan and a revamp of my campaigns, I appeal to women more and more but not to the exclusion of men.
Here are a few marketing techniques I think are terribly important to consider when you decide to hang out your shingles and want to attract more women to your site.
Don't laugh.
If you saw my twitter direct messages, you would fall over on how many guys start out with stuff like "Need To Make More Income" or "Make Money Today!".

Greet Everyone You Meet

Before you send out any kind of message, flirt.
Be in the present, make a joke.
Greeting someone online or on the phone shows respect and courtesy.
For a woman, this simple gesture is kind and goes a long, long way in building a relationship.
2.
Develop A Friendly Relationship
.
Now I am not talking about having drinks online - just bring value to the relationship just like you would anyone.
Try to meet their needs, make suggestions, offer guidance, support.
Women, more often then not, base their opinions about people and products, on relationships.
3.
Listen To Their Needs
.
Women like to be heard.
They want to know that whatever they say, someone is listening and validating their feelings.
Often times men seem to gloss over this one little item which costs them big bucks in the end.
After a woman talks to you or reads your copy, it has to be very, very clear to her that you can solve her problem.
4.
Don't talk About Yourself
.
Now, this is a tricky step.
Women like to learn about the person they are talking to but too much of it makes a man seem like a drip.
Women will ask questions when they feel like they need to know more.
Make the information readily available so they can find it for themselves.
Guys, if you knew how many times my female friends would say the line "he wouldn't stop talking about himself .
" Sure, we women want to feel secure in who we are dealing with but too much of anything is so terribly boring - especially to a customer.
Remember, marketing is not about you but your customers.
5.
Provide great customer service.

Send your customer a nice personal email.
Appreciate your clients and they will appreciate you by being very, very loyal.
Women spread "the news" like no other and provide word of mouth advertising to those who listen.
At the end of the day, many of us market to both men and women.
If your marketing is not turning into sales and conversions, it is time to start reviewing what messages your campaigns are sending.
Women have different communication styles then men.
When you figure this out, watch your sales volume soar!
