104 67

    Size

    • Passengers can carry on one bag not exceeding overall dimensions of 45 inches (the sum of width, height and depth), and one personal item. These include briefcases, small backpack purses, laptop bags, or a similar item not exceeding 36 inches. All carry-on items have to be stowed in the overhead compartments.

    Extras

    • Additional items allowed include outwear such as hats and coats, books or newspapers, a small bag of food, blankets or pillows, and devices such as wheelchairs and walkers to assist passengers. If travelling with a ticketed child, an approved safety seat, umbrella stroller and diaper bag can be taken. Medical equipment such as heart pacemakers and hearing aids are also allowed.

    Liquids

    • Some liquids, aerosols and gels can be carried on board in individual containers that do not exceed a capacity of 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters. Larger items must be packed inside your checked baggage. Liquids or gels for diabetic or other medical needs may also be carried on. Liquid duty-free items purchased in the United States can be taken on board, while all non liquid/gel duty-free items are allowed when connecting.

    Restrictions

    • Radios, electronic games or toys with a remote control, and GPS systems cannot be carried on board. Electronic devices such as laptops and mobile phones can be carried on but must be switched off during taxi, takeoff, approach and landing, and until the aircraft has arrived at the gate and seat belt light is switched off.

    Considerations

    • Carry-on bags that don't fit in the overhead containers or under seats must be checked at the gate and placed in the cargo compartment on American Eagle planes. Carry-on bags at some airports may be subject to more restrictions.
