How to Make Rose Lattices
- 1). Cut the pressure-treated wood into your desired size of lattice pieces. Add an extra 1 1/2 feet to the vertical lattice pieces if you are installing the lattice upright from the ground.
- 2). Prime and paint every side of the lattice pieces and leave overnight to dry.
- 3). Set the horizontal pieces up, spacing them 6 inches apart.
- 4). Measure 6 inches along the horizontal pieces and mark the 6-inch notches with a pencil.
- 5). Place the vertical pieces into position, making the bottom longer if you are installing the trellis into the ground.
- 6). Drill pilot holes into the top row of lattice pieces and secure each one with a drywall screw.
- 7). Verify that each lattice is at a 90-degree angle using a carpenter's square. Once you are sure the piece is straight, drill the pilot hole and place the screw in.
