Cosmetic procedures are aimed to make the skin appear more attractive, smooth and vibrant by reducing almost all skin irregularities. In some cases, the skin irregularities may be reduced completely making the skin appear younger and luminous. The cosmetic businesses are providing different ranges of services to their customers and therefore they woo customers by providing quality services to their customers while at the same time, they will provide the technology the customer will prefer.
Depending on the skin resurfacing technique preferred by the client, the cosmetician will have to use varied lasers and skin resurfacing technology during the treatment process. The diode laser technology directs some short light concentrations forming pulsating beams at the targeted irregular skin part. The resurfacing procedure removes the skin exactly from one layer to the next. This makes sure that no improper skin chippings occurs leading to injuries to the skin. This means that the unwanted skin layers are peeled off from the skin surface exposing the newer and inner skin layers that makes the body more vibrant and leaves the body radiating with improved energy.
Before we proceed to understand the resurfacing techniques, you may want to know the kind of skin condition that this procedure supports. Persons with fine lines on the areas around the eyes as well as those with wrinkles on their skin can undertake the skin resurfacing treatment. So are persons with acne on their skin. However, active acne may not respond well to skin resurfacing. This case also applies to persons with dark skins. Equally, the patient should understand the severity of particular technique before settling for any of them. They should therefore seek professional counseling from qualified and experienced dermatologists. This is the case because skin resurfacing requires particular skills and the patient should take every precautionary measure to avoid long-term side effects.
There are 2 different skin-resurfacing techniques. The CO2 laser resurfacing technique uses ultra-pulsed beams of light to targeted skin in scanned manner that ensures that the skin layers are removed carefully with minimal skin damage of the surrounding tissues caused by excessive heat. The beams of light are passed by use of diode lasers. The patient may take up to 2 weeks to recover from the treatment. This treatment usually works for persons with lighter skins.
The other technique is the Erbium laser resurfacing that uses the IPL technology. It is effective in removing wrinkles and fine lines on the targeted body part. This may include the arms, chest and the neck. The IPL technology does not use lasers. Therefore, it may cause minimal side effects and it involves a short downtime. This technique is most appropriate for persons with dark skins.
