Don"t Miss the Great Live Music at the 2015 State Fair of Texas
Live music performances are always a big hit at the State Fair of Texas. Here is the 2015 lineup to be performed on the Chevrolet Main Stage. There is absolutely no cost to go to the concerts. It's all part of your admission into the State Fair of Texas.
Texas-born and raised country singer Craig Wayne Boyd will begin the concert series on opening night of the State Fair, performing Friday, September 25 at 8:30 p.m. Boyd grew up in the Dallas, Texas area where he was drawn to gospel and country music. He won the seventh season of “The Voice” with the hit single “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face.”
Two-time Latin Grammy winner Pesado will wrap up opening weekend on Sunday, September 27 at 5:30 p.m. Pesado was founded in 1993 in Monterrey, Mexico by Beto Zapata and Pepe Elizondo. Since then, they have gone on to make countless gold and platinum albums. They recently celebrated their 20th musical anniversary.
The 34th annual Country Showdown, America’s oldest and largest country music talent showcase, will take place on Friday, October 2 at 8:30 p.m. The showcase is designed to find the most promising talent in the nation and provide them with a chance to launch their professional careers. More than 25,000 performers compete each year, with past contestants including artists such as Martina McBride, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and Chris Young. Local winners advance to state competitions.
On Saturday, October 3 at 8:30 p.m., expect an exciting and inspirational evening when Houston, Texas-born gospel rap sensation, Lecrae, takes the stage. Topping both the Christian Albums chart and the Billboard 200 with his hit single “Anomaly,” the Grammy Award winner looks to take over the Main Stage with his trend-setting talents.
The second weekend of the State Fair will end with performances from two Texas-sized acts. Sunday, October 4 fairgoers will see Cam light up the stage at 3 p.m., then at 5:30 p.m. Kelsea Ballerini will blow the audience away with her energetic performance. Her first ever single release “Love Me Like You Mean It” is a smash hit on country radio nationwide and has recently reached the top five on Country Airplay. A fresh new force on the country scene, Cam has the ability to use her lyrics to reach people of all ages! Kelsea Ballerini’s positive and poetic lyrics will both motivate and inspire fans.
Kicking off the weekend of the Red River Showdown, Prophets and Outlaws will energize fairgoers with their soulful presence on Friday, October 9 at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The band was formed in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and enjoy a terrific regional following. They have developed a sound that ties their passion for the Blues to their country roots.
Texas singer-songwriter Kevin Fowler will take the Chevrolet Main Stage on Saturday, October 10 at 8:30 p.m. Fowler has released seven studio albums, including his latest “How Country Are You” produced from his very own record label, Kevin Fowler Records. With a reputation as one of the most amped-up concert performers to come from Texas, he won’t disappoint.
Pop fans from across the world will have “Fun, Fun, Fun” when listening to the final show of the third weekend. Sunday, October 11 at 5:30 p.m. the State Fair of Texas welcomes The Beach Boys to the Chevrolet Main Stage. These Rock and Roll Hall of Famers continue to perform with the same bold style that marked their explosive debut more than 50 years ago. They continue having fun performing at events and venues such as Live Aid, multiple Farm Aids, the Statue of Liberty’s 100th Anniversary Salute, the Super Bowl and the White House.
The State Fair will have a fun-filled Columbus Day when up-and-coming pop star Francesco Yates displays his talents on the Chevrolet Main Stage. On Monday, October 12 at 5:30 p.m., the 18-year-old artist will deliver a performance your family won’t forget. Fresh into his career, he has received high praise from well-known artists such as Pharrell Williams and Justin Timberlake.
The State Fair of Texas will open its final weekend with Trio Grande, a ZZ Top tribute band, on Friday, October 16 at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Trio Grande is a professional road band that features three seasoned musicians, each with more than 25 years in the classic rock and tribute band business. Together for more than seven years, the group has performed at a variety of venues such as casinos, festivals, bike rallies, special events and parties.
