Directions for Putting on a Tie
- 1). Place the tie around your neck so that it is resting across the outline of your shoulders. Place the tie so that the wider end is on the left side of your body and the shorter end is on the right. Make sure that the wider side is hanging down about a foot longer than the side that is more narrow.
- 2). Place the wide end of the tie over the narrow end so that they cross. After the two sections cross, fold the wide part of the tie underneath the narrow end. Continue by crossing the wide end over the narrow end again.
- 3). Place the wide end into the loop (open space) where the two sections cross. Allow this section to go under the narrow end and then upward.
- 4). Hold the front of the knot open with your index finger so that the wide end can go through the loop, facing downward.
- 5). Complete the tie's look by tightening the knot. Tighten the knot by sliding it upwards toward the collar.
