Hi, I'm Jared Schneider from Smith Point Archery Patchogue, New York. Today, I'm going to show you how to measure the string length for a long bow. The materials you'll need are the bow that you plan on measuring and a tape measure. The first step is to measure the bow's length. To measure the length of the bow, you'll need to measure from the top of the string groove on the bottom limb, across the face of the bow to the top of the string groove on the top limb. I can see this bow measures 68 inches. Now that we know the length of the bow, it's easy to determine the string length. So, for this 68 inch bow, I would need a string that's between 64 and 65 inches, depending on the material.
