The MLM Warm Market - A Sure Way to Antagonise Friends and Make No Money

103 161
When you become a member of a new MLM program, you are normally very enthusiastic and you simply can't wait to involve your friends, colleagues and family members in this great opportunity.
In MLM circles these guys are called the warm market.
The theory goes that you know these guys better than any stranger.
There is a relationship of trust between you, and they are therefore much more likely to sign up with your MLM program than a complete stranger.
There is a snag involved in this approach, however.
The members of your warm market might pretend they are interested in your program, because they don't want to make you feel bad.
They would thus sit throughout you presentation and even ask intelligent-sounding questions.
Some of them might even go as far as signing up for your program, while they are not even slightly interested to really get seriously involved in the program; they just want to get rid of your nagging.
This is a great way to lose friends and drive colleagues and family members away from you.
Eventually you will find that former good friends suddenly cross to the other side of the street when they see you coming.
Not only will your circles of friends become smaller, you will also not be successful in generating money with your MLM program.
There are better ways to do this.
There are customized MLM marketing systems available on the Internet which you can use to start building a mailing list.
This way you will stay in contact with your prospects and gradually build a relationship of trust.
It might take time until they are ready to sign up, but because they are sincerely interested they will make better recruits than your family or friends.
Another way of doing it is to start a blog about a niche subject such as how to handle rejection when recruiting people.
As part of your blog you can have a mailing list.
When people sign up for your mailing list, send them a regular newsletter filled with interesting bits of industry news.
Once again you will stay in contact and eventually these people could become your new recruits.
The short answer to whether you should market to your warm market is thus an emphatic no.
If you are highly successful with your MLM endeavors these people will eventually approach you and at that stage you could bring them into your network.
Before that concentrate on recruiting people who are genuinely interested and wiling to work to make it a success.
