Artisphere – Arlington Virginia’s Cultural Center
Artisphere, the Washington DC region's newest cultural center features four performance venues, plus a Wi-Fi café, three visual art galleries, and a 4,000 square foot Ballroom that will bring regional, national and international cultural offerings to the region. Artisphere opened in October 2010 and is a 62,000 square foot cultural campus combining the newly-renovated former Newseum space with the existing 397-seat Spectrum Theatre next door.
Artisphere's broad offerings engage audiences in the arts with the less-formal accessibility of your favorite neighborhood coffee house. The building is open seven days a week and offers more than 100 events per month. Resident performing companies at Artisphere include Washington Shakespeare Company, and National Chamber Ensemble. There also is a curated retail outlet for the Artisan Center of Virginia, the State's officially designated fine craft organization. Artisphere is managed by Arlington County and supported in part by the Rosslyn BID.
