Not Always Effective

• McNEIL-PPC, Inc, who make Rogaine, freely admit that it only works for certain people. If you're hair is thinning, you can give Rogaine a try, and you may find that it helps you out a lot, but you may also find that it isn't effective at all.
  
  

Prevent and Reverse

• When Rogaine does work, it sometimes slows down the hair loss process, and sometimes it actually reverses the process and causes hair to thicken. Different people have very different degrees of success. The product is not as effective if the instructions aren't followed exactly as written.
  
  

Time Frame

• Rogaine doesn't work immediately. The drug usually takes about four months before producing results. It also has to be applied twice a day, every day. In the first few weeks, hair may start falling out at a faster rate, and this is actually considered a sign that the drug may be working because it means new growth may be beginning under the skin.
