How to Use Henna Hair Color
- 1). Weigh out an appropriate amount of henna for your hair length. Short hair needs 100g, collar-length hair needs 200g, and waist-length hair needs 500g. These amounts are for straight hair, so add more if your hair is curly.
- 2). Place the henna in the bowl and add lemon juice until the henna has the texture of mashed potatoes.
- 3). Cover the henna mix with plastic wrap and let it sit out overnight.
- 4). Add more lemon juice until the henna has the consistency of yogurt.
- 5). Comb your clean, dry hair.
- 6). Put on the gloves.
- 7). Section out your hair, leaving a half inch of hair at the bottom of the scalp loose.
- 8). Apply a thick layer of the henna mixture to the loose hair.
- 9). Let down another half inch of hair and coat it with the henna mixture. Continue in this manner until all your hair is coated with henna.
- 10
Pile your hair on top of your head and wrap it with plastic wrap, like a turban. Wipe excess henna off your skin with the damp rag. - 11
Allow the henna to soak into your hair for two to four hours. - 12
Remove the plastic wrap and rinse the henna out of your hair. Shampoo your hair to remove the last traces of the henna mixture.
