A Grooms Wedding
Let me tell you what it would be like if the husband decided that he wanted to plan the wedding as opposed to the bride. Im not saying that he wouldnt want an extremely large seven tiered wedding cake that showed off exactly how much he loved his soon to be wife, but things might be a little different. First, I dont think that this groom will even make it toward the end of the wedding before his betrothed left him at the alter, but I digress.
The wedding industry would be much less successful if men were in charge of the wedding planning. Almost every wedding would actually be much smaller than they are now. The twenty thousand dollar average amount people spend right now would go toward a down payment on a house or recklessly spent on a down payment for a dream car instead. A man would invite his immediate friends and his immediate family. There wont be the people he went to high school with and his accountant wont be there either. The guest list would be trimmed down to perhaps fifty. There wouldnt be a need for fancy decorations and over the top bridal gowns. There may even be a shortage of flowers in the church, if its even a church. Most men would probably prefer a different venue like Las Vegas or in the middle of the ocean on a huge ship where friends and family could relax and wear flip-flops.
A lot of the money would be spent on food. Men secretly enjoy the things that are usually labeled as chick food. A stuffed chicken breast dusted with paprika in a demi glaze mushroom sauce would be appreciated in a room full of men just as much as a room of high society women. Perhaps even more attention would be shown toward the food than if a bride were in charge.
The only two things that wouldnt change during this groom-run wedding are the beautiful cake and the wedding vows. This meaning that the love would still show through even though this would be a simple ceremony. Perhaps even more time would be devoted to sharing some intimate words in front of an intimate audience. Perhaps a wedding like this could be compared to a small concert at an exclusive club instead of one performed in a giant sports stadium.
