Everybody wants to lose weight but doing so can be difficult in our fast-paced world where nobody really has time to exercise regularly or eat correctly. Fortunately there are several things you can do to help yourself lose weight even in our busy world today.

In this article I want to talk about three fairly simple ways for you to lose that pot belly for good.

The first thing to do is dramatically cut fat consumption. You should only get about 30% of your total calories from fat, at least that's what most experts recommend. Percentages are important but it's not the most important thing. The most important thing is the total amount of fat that you eat and that will control how fat your body actually becomes.

You should generally eat no more than 40 grams of fat every day. It's often difficult to determine how much fat you're eating but there are websites out there that can give you the fat content of most foods and a quick search online should yield one or two that you can use, probably for free.

The next way to lose that pot belly is to eat small but frequent meals throughout the day. You've probably heard of this method before but I can't stress how great it really is. Eating a bunch of small meals throughout the day will boost your metabolism rate. What that does is speed up the rate at which your body will burn calories. This does several things but the most important thing is that it helps keep you from getting hungry as often which of course keeps you from eating so much.

A good rule of thumb is to not go more than four hours without eating. Many people who do this diet skip breakfast but it's important that you don't skip breakfast and even if you're not hungry when you wake up, you should at least eat some toast and drink some juice.

Finally the third way to lose your pot belly is to move around more. I don't necessarily mean that you have to focus on getting exercise though exercise is certainly good for you; what I mean is to simply try to be a little more active throughout the day.

Park a little farther away when you go to work so that you have to walk more. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Go for a walk for five minutes around the block after dinner. Mow the lawn with the push mower instead of the riding lawnmower. Take the dog for a walk. Simple things like this will do wonders for you in no time at all and with very little effort.

So there you have three very simple ways to lose that pot belly. Focusing on these three ways should help you lose that weight in no time and it should be much easier than fad diets and starving yourself!
