There are two known reasons that humans grow hair underneath their arms: 1.
To stop the skin from rubbing together underneath the arms.
2.
To prevent the accumulation and growth of bacteria when moist.
Bacteria can grow in the damp atmosphere common here, and that is what causes odor.
These seem like two very noble causes, but they are also causes that you could easily live without.
You need your toes to walk and your ears are essential for communicating with the world around you.
What do you need your armpit hair for? Not much! Preventing Chaffing Some people experience the unpleasant sensation of chaffed skin on the inner thighs and maybe in some other areas of the body, but it is rarely a problem for anyone underneath the arms.
This is an area that can get sweaty and even if you are just sleeping your arms probably move around at least a little.
So, it does make sense that chafing could occur.
However, most women have been shaving their pits free of hair for generations and chafing has not become a worldwide epidemic.
This is probably not a good reason to keep your armpit hair around if it is causing you problems.

Okay, so body odor is a reasonable problem that many people experience.
No one wants their stink to arrive before they do when they walk into a room, which is why deodorant and soap are staples in households the world over.
The question is whether you really need hair in your pits to stop the growth of stinky bacteria.
The answer is clearly no.
Most women do not walk around with hairy pits today and the vast majority of them don't stink.
If you are already shaving your or waxing your armpits and the lack of hair has not made you stink, what does it hurt to permanently have that hair removed? You gain some free time since you don't have to worry about keeping the pits shaved clean and you don't have to worry about the disgusting appearance of hair when you slip into a tank top.
Why Armpit Hair Must Go When you really think about armpit hair it is enough to make you gag.
When the temperature rises and the sweat begins to pour, it seems like a hairy forest under the arm creates an even bigger stink.
You also have to remember to touch up the pits every single day or at least once a week or you could find yourself raising your hand to reveal a disgusting brown patch no one wants to see.
This leads to constant worry and possible embarrassment, which leads many people to seek out laser hair removal for this area of the body.
The reasons to get rid of your armpit hair seem a lot more convincing than the reasons to keep it.
When you get tired of keeping the pit hair clean shaved and are ready for a break, check into laser hair removal.
You can go in for a few treatments and not have to worry about disgusting underarm hair for a very long time!
