    • 1). Wash and condition the hair. Apply a heat-activated straightening cream and blow-dry using a round brush.

    • 2). Allow your flat iron to heat up. Divide the hair into sections: The top part of the hair should be divided into three sections (front 1/3, middle 1/3 and back 1/3) and the sides and back separated into sections (the left side, right side and back). Hold the sections in place and away from the others with clips.

    • 3). Let down the back section of hair. Separate the hair into 1-inch sections. Clamp the flat iron close to the roots for each 1-inch section and slowly run the iron down to the ends, ensuring the hair has been straightened and all kinks and curls removed. The short hair will gain length as all curls and kinks are straightened. Complete this process until the entire section of hair is completely straight. Keep using 1-inch sections and do not try to straighten larger amounts of hair at once, according to the Hairstyle website, because this will give uneven results.

    • 4). Let down the hair on one side and again divide it into 1-inch sections. Clamp the flat iron close to the roots for each 1-inch section and run the iron down the course of the hair until all hair has been straightened. Release the hair on the other side and complete the process again.

    • 5). Move to the top of the head. Let down the back section of hair and complete the straightening process, again dividing the hair into 1-inch sections and straightening. Release the middle top section of hair and complete, followed by the front top section of hair and bangs.

    • 6). Top the hair off with a straightening shine serum.
