Safe house

Rafe sits on the couch and stares at Sami, since she has proven that she can’t be trusted. Sami warns him that he’s not going to win, but Rafe states otherwise. Rafe reveals that he’s brought down drug cartels, international kidnappers, and terrorists. “But you, you might just be the most challenging case I’ve had yet,” he predicts.

An annoyed Sami says it’s not very grown up to sit and stare at each other.

He affirms that if she wants to be treated like an adult, she needs to act like one. “You are not my father!” she declares. He admits that if he was, he would’ve taken her over his knee a long time ago and taught her some manners. She needs to use the bathroom. He implores her to leave the door wide open. She remarks that he’s as bad as Hilda, which he takes as a compliment. She intends to wait him out until he eventually passes out. He reveals that he once went 48 hours straight on a stakeout. She then stands up and yells that she can’t take it anymore, whining that she wants to be with her kids and wants to go home. Rafe hands her his phone and encourages her to call her dad. Sami makes the phone call and asks about the twins, expressing how much she misses them. “Nicole’s been what?” asks a bewildered Sami. It’s soon revealed that she’s talking to Lucas. “We’re you so busy jumping Chloe’s bones that you completely forgot about me?” she lashes out. She rants how Nicole is crazy before Rafe swipes the phone away.

She begs him not to mess around and take the phone from her, but he hangs up and orders her to get back to the sofa.

Sami fesses up that she was talking to Lucas. She insists that she had to call and check on her kids, fearing that her son could be living with a murderer, Nicole Walker. “I thought you said she was arrested,” responds Rafe. “People get out on bail! My grandma was arrested for murder and she got out on bail!” exclaims a frantic Sami, who begs him to let her call Lucas back. The phone rings and Rafe answers it his partner. He hangs up and is dismayed to learn that the truck stop slasher was arrested and is in custody now, as Rafe was one of the guys trying to catch him for two years. He complains how he’s stuck there baby-sitting her.

Rafe questions how Sami would feel if her kids didn’t have their mother because she ended up dead. She apologizes for being ungrateful and selfish, which surprises Rafe. She offers to make him dinner to prove that she’s turning over a new leaf, although she warns him that she’s not a good cook. Rafe jokingly asks if she’s going to poison him like she did Hilda. She claims she’s not going to poison him and refers to the incident with Hilda as no big deal. She expresses how she really misses her kids. He questions how many she has. Sami reveals that she has three and brings up how Will is a teenager living in Switzerland and attending school there. Rafe is surprised to hear that her twins have different fathers. Sami tells him not to ask. She then notices the stove burning and runs to the door screaming “Fire!” Rafe grabs her before she can run out the door. He puts out the fire as Sami secretly swipes his phone. He proceeds to try a new tactic with her and stop pushing. “I’m cool with a cease fire,” she shrugs.

Sami proceeds to take a shower and call it a day. He grabs her and asks where she thinks she’s going, then discovers that she swiped the cell phone. She heads into the shower and closes the door. Rafe later picks the lock while she’s taking a shower and takes her clothes and towel. “Two can play at that game,” he smirks. Sami soon realizes that he took her clothes and towel.

Police Station

Hope presents sparkling cider for Commissioner Brady. She playfully assures him that in spite of their marital status, she has no intention of asking for any special favors. Bo grins how he doesn’t want to be too strict. Hope kisses him as a couple of fellow officers witness the passionate exchange from the other room. Hope closes the blinds. After their little make out session, Bo assures her that he’ll need her by her side. He then receives a phone call from E.J., who says that Nicole is ready to talk. Hope proceeds to grab her tape recorder.

Nicole’s Jail Cell

E.J. is by a weary Nicole’s side as she tells Bo and Hope that she’s ready to tell the whole truth. Hope has her tape recorder in Nicole’s face as she recounts how she followed Trent to the cemetery, hoping to retrieve the torn up marriage certificate. She confesses that she had a gun and went there to kill Trent Robbins. She admits that she wanted to shoot Trent, but when it came down to it, she didn’t have it in her. “That never stopped you before,” remarks Bo, who questions if there were any witnesses. Nicole then realizes that there was someone at the entrance of the graveyard in the shadows. She describes the witness as a tall man and assumed he was the caretaker. E.J. questions if either of them have bothered to interview the caretaker.

After Nicole confesses, Bo and Hope agree to be in touch. Nicole questions why they didn’t come after her earlier if she was a suspect from the beginning and they were so desperate to get Caroline out of jail. Hope simply states that they didn’t have enough evidence to arrest her. Bo brings up how Trent named Nicole as his killer in his note, and Hope adds how they found the dress with the missing beads. E.J. notes how CSI didn’t look very thoroughly the first time in the cemetery, remarking how incompetent the police force is. Bo and Hope leave, and E.J. hugs her.

Hope admits to Bo that she has a feeling Nicole’s telling the truth. Bo states that the guy whom Nicole saw at the cemetery that night wasn’t the caretaker, since there wasn’t anyone on duty that night. He deduces that the guy at the cemetery that night could very well be the killer.

Nicole is bewildered to realize that she either saw the caretaker who could exonerate her or saw the real killer. E.J. implores her to remember anything else and describe the person in greater detail. Nicole brings up Stefano and deduces that he set her up. She then accuses E.J. of being in on it and wanting to take her baby away from her.
