How to Remove Tree Sap From an Heirloom Tree Skirt
- 1). Scrape away as much tree sap from the tree skirt as you can, using a dull kitchen knife. Be very careful not to damage the fibers of the skirt.
- 2). Place a bowl filled with 2 cups of cool water near the skirt. Add one tablespoon of a mild natural detergent and mix.
- 3). Place a soft white cloth inside the bowl, swish it around and wring it out.
- 4). Gently dab the tree sap. Use a little pressure to help draw the sap to the cloth.
- 5). Keep dabbing with the cloth until you can no longer see tree sap.
- 6). Take the skirt to a sink and gently rinse out the detergent with cool water.
- 7). Press the skirt firmly with a dry cloth to soak up water and then lay it flat to dry.
