The Museum of the History of Nerja Adds a Skull Discovered in Nerja Caves

New element in the Museum of Nerja in Malaga:

At the Museum of the History of Nerja have added a new incentive to visit with the addition of a skull that was found during the 60's in the Caves of Nerja, an archeological landmark dating since 4300 years old. The Museum is located in Nerja, a town in the province of Malaga, travels through the town's history.

The Skull Napoleon:

The skull was found along with other materials that hindered the original entry in the lobby room. The discovery comes from the Copper age and due to a stone fused to the skull with form of hat as he decided to call Napoleon. This element was exposed in the Caves of Nerja for many years to complete with other funds saved for cultural, fortunately everybody can see from today at the Museum of Nerja.

The Skull called Napoleon is exposed with other remnants of bone origin were also discovered in the same cave, like the skeleton of Pepita token at 1982 dating back 8300 years and accompanying Napoleon in one of the galleries at the Museum of History of Nerja.

Other exhibits of the Museum

Also in the museum show other signs of human origins, in this case during the years 1962, a researcher discovered skeletons dating back over 5700 years to eleven thousand years. The Museum was inaugurated / opened in the month of December 2011 and now exhibits over 200 "archaeological" pieces found inside the huge caves of Nerja.

The history of Nerja in the Museum is based from when the Nerja Caves were inhabited for thousands of years until the tourist boom and the discovery of the Cave, also recalls the TV serie "Verano Azul" that had much relevance in the township.
