Preventing wrinkles or just minimizing the look of them can be accomplished in many ways without having to resort to lasers and facelifts.  Aside from these being very expensive procedures, the results may not be as long lasting as simple preventative or careful attention to your skin.

Everyone dreams of aging without wrinkles, prevention is the best tool in your toolkit.
  1. Take your recommended supplements each and every day.  We don't get nearly the required supplements of minerals and vitamins in our diet (what we eat), so supplements are necessary.  Certain supplements can really assist in slowing down the aging process, and helping with anti aging.  These include Flax Seed Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E,  Vitamin B-50 with Folic Acid, Vitamin D and Vitamin A and Selenium.  The combination of these supplements is vital to your daily routine.
  2. Preserve your collagen as much as you can.  Collagen is the element that keeps your skin looking supple and young.  Vitamin C is one of the best supplements you can use to stimulate the natural production of collagen.  Sure, you may eat a lot of foods that contain Vitamin C, but often the exposure of these foods to light or the cooking process can destroy the natural Vitamin C.
  3. Do your homework and choose an effective wrinkle reduction facial cream.  There are plenty of creams available that are very expensive; however, this does not make them any more effective than others.  If you are unsure of the quality or effectiveness of a particular cream, check into the research behind the product and read as many customer testimonials as you possibly can.  There is nothing that can compare to the experience of real people who have used a product, giving their opinions.  You can also research the ingredients that are listed on the product yourself.  Check for a money back guarantee or a sample so that you are not out of pocket a ridiculous sum of money for a product that you do not care for.
  4. Protect your skin from the sun.  Wear an SPF 15 or higher cream on your skin and face that blocks out those harmful UV rays.  The sun can do a horrible amount of damage to your skin, and you may not even notice it by simply looking in the mirror.  It is always advisable to stay out of the sun as much as you can.  Keep in mind that tanning beds are not any better.  They are equally harmful to your skin when it comes to sun damage, even though the tanning bed industry has tried to advertise their service as a healthy alternative to the damaging rays of the sun.  Research has shown that not only can you damage your skin in tanning beds, but also that you may get melanoma down the road.  The best way to prevent this kind of damage is to stay out of the sun, when possible, wear a good sun block, a hat and minimize exposure as much as you can.  Don't downplay the importance of wearing sunglasses either.  The sun can damage your eyes just as much as your skin and cause various cancers and eye problems.  It is a fact that people have contracted melanoma through eyes that have been exposed to the sun without proper protection with sunglasses.
  5. Drink green tea every day.  Just two cups of this amazing anti oxidant can neutralize free radicals.  Free radicals can age your skin a great deal in a short time, so combat the effects of them with anti oxidants.  Anti oxidants cannot reverse the effects of pre-existing damage; however, they can prevent further damage or inhibit it.

Try to break habits such as pursing your lips or squinting.  Repeated behaviors such as these can cause permanent and deep wrinkling, which will start off as fine lines, and deepen over many years.  You may not even notice that you are doing these things.  Ask a friend to tell you what sort of facial expressions you constantly make, then think about the wrinkles that would result from those facial expressions.  Everyone ends up with laugh lines and smile wrinkles around their eyes, but do you really want those lines on your nose from scrunching it up.
