Ways to Make Money in Runescape

    Killing Creatures

    • One of the most common ways to make money inside RuneScape is by simply killing creatures. If your character has the Slayer skill, you will see an increase in how much you make in killing creatures. While you can make lots of money at higher levels, you can make a fair amount of money early on by killing small creatures like chickens or cows. You can then take the cow hide and sell it to a Crafter, or take the chicken feathers and sell them to Fletchers.

    Crafting

    • Crafting is great in that you will always have people wanting to buy some kind of item that can only be created by a Crafter. Crafters can make armor and weapons and, while it may take a while to start seeing a profit from the goods you craft, with time and patience you can turn crafting into a very profitable activity.

If you intend to build up your crafting skill, you will want to build your Crafting skill level up quickly. You can do this by simply making cheap armors that you can dump for a few gold pieces. Once you reach a crafting level of 57, you will be able to start creating Dragonhide armor, which goes for over 4,000 gp for the body piece alone. If you create and sell full sets, you can nearly double that price.

At level 54 you can begin constructing battlestaffs, which you can either sell for a nice profit or hold onto as an effective defensive weapon. After all, there is no point in making money if you're dead.

While it is possible to craft items as a free-to-play member, your options and skills are limited. Crafting is best done by those who have paid accounts.

    Fishing

    • Fishing is a great way to make money if you are a player that has only a free account. There are several areas to fish, but the best area in which to make money is Karamja. While Karamja doesn't have the variety of fish that other areas do, you can find fish that are vital for healing: swordfish and tuna, specifically.

Tuna sells for between 100-300 gp, Lobsters sell for roughly 300 gp and Swordfish can fetch up to 400 gp. If you have a member account, you can catch fish that more than double the worth of the aforementioned. Catching a shark can net you an easy 800 gp, for example.
