Mishima and Sgraffito Project Instructions
Mishima and sgraffito are wide-open decorative techniques. Although they are normally thought of as using clay-only slips, underglazes can also be used if they are thick enough.
Not only is your choice of clay body, slips, and underglazes important, but so is the tool you use for the incising, as well as how you use it. Tools can range from a dull pencil, a potter's needle, wooden modeling tools, on through tools made especially for these type of incising-slip techniques.
Submission Deadline: The closing date for submissions for this project is February 28, 2010. You must follow the submission guidelines to have your piece included in the project gallery.
