How to Plug an Audio Cord From the Mixer to the Video Camera
- 1). Determine exactly what type of audio cables you need to connect your camera to the mixer. All digital cameras have audio and video cable outputs on them, but which kind will depend on the exact model of camera you own. Typically these will be red and white colored composite audio cables. Look at the audio cable outputs on the camera and verify that a set of identical inputs exists on the mixer board. Purchase these cables (if you don't already have them) at any electronics retailer.
Audio outputs on the camera will be circular in shape and will be located somewhere on the exterior case of the camera. These are typically the only outputs (in addition to a separate video output) on the case of the camera. Audio inputs on the mixer will also be circular in shape and will be on the back of the unit. - 2). Connect one end of your audio cables to the audio cable outputs on the digital camera. Typically two cables are used--one for the left channel of audio and one for the right channel.
- 3). Connect the other end of your audio cables to the audio cable inputs on the mixer. Your video camera is now connected directly to the mixing board.
