    • 1). Position yourself so that you can see the back of the television and Blu-ray player. Locate the HDMI ports on both devices. They are wide and narrow, and both should be labeled accordingly on the machines.

    • 2). Connect the HDMI cable that accompanies the Blu-ray player to the player and the television.

    • 3). Connect an Ethernet cable to the designated port on the back of the Blu-ray player. Connect the other end to the power center for the player. These ports should be labeled on the devices, regardless of brand.

    • 4). Connect a second Ethernet cable to the power center and your home modem or router.

    • 5). Plug all of the devices into the electrical outlets on the wall. Turn them on. You will know that you successfully connected all of the components when the Blu-ray image or logo appears on your television screen, once all components are on and set to the proper viewing choices.

    • 6). Insert a Blu-ray disc into the player. Press play.
