    Brushes

    • You will need all-natural bristle brushes. Your basic brushes are a domed, kabuki brush for light all-over coverage and either a flat kabuki or a medium size round brush with dense, tightly packed bristles for heavier coverage. You will also need a flat brush for applying concealer under eyes and over blemishes, a flat eye shadow brush and a chisel cut eyeliner brush.

    Applying Foundation

    • Foundation mineral makeup is applied in layers. Rather than applying one heavy coat, you build up coverage in two or three layers. Use the domed kabuki brush for light all-over face application. For heavier all over application use the flat kabuki or its alternative. Even though you are applying a heavier coat with the flat kabuki you still apply the makeup in layers.

To load the brush with the makeup, tap a small amount of mineral into the cap. Press the brush down into the cap to pick up the sprinkle of mineral, and slowly roll the tip of the brush around in circles. Tap out the extra mineral from the brush hairs by tapping the ferrule of the brush against the edge of the cap.

Touch the brush to the face starting at the top of the forehead along the hair line and buff the mineral makeup into the skin in a circular motion. Repeat this all over the face from top to bottom. Study your face for even coverage and repeat application.

    Applying Concealer

    • In between the second and third application of foundation apply concealer. Use a small concealer brush to apply the makeup under the eyes and inside bridge of nose. Blend the concealer into the skin. You can apply concealer on the brow bone as well. Also apply it on the outside of each nostril where broken capillaries have a tendency to surface or there is extra redness. And if you have any blemishes, touch them up with concealer and blend. When finished apply a final all over coat of foundation.

    Applying Bronzer

    • Using the domed kabuki brush apply a very light all-over face coat of bronzer. To shade your face come back in a second time and buff a stronger layer of bronzer along the hair line and along the jaw line and in towards the cheek bones. This second layer of bronzer is used to contour the face.

    Applying Blush

    • Load your domed kabuki brush with blush, tap out the extra, and buff a little on the forehead and chin. Buff it onto both cheeks. Smile when you do this to reveal the correct cheek area to buff. Buff up both sides of the nose and across the bridge.

Applying Eye Shadow and Eye Liner

    • Load the eye shadow brush with mineral eye shadow and brush on to eyelids. Work eye shadow into the outside corners of the eye and blend up into the crevice of the eyelid along the bottom of the brow bone.

Eye liner can be applied dry or wet. To apply dry dip the chiseled eye liner brush into a dark eye shadow mineral, tap off the extra and apply a thin line along the lash line of the upper eyelid. Repeat until you get the density of color you want. Next apply the eye liner right below the lower lashes and blend outwards towards the outer eye.

To apply wet eye shadow simply dip the brush in water and pick up some of the mineral and apply as above. Wet applied eye liner will last longer.
