How to Create Sleep Strategies for Your Toddler
- 1). Lay your toddler in their crib and then gently wake them up so they are aware that they are in their crib, if they happen to fall asleep in your arms or on the couch. Allowing your toddler to fall asleep in your arms every night will cause them to be dependent on you.
- 2). Put your child to bed at the same time every night and create a strict sleeping schedule.
- 3). Read a book, allow your toddler to watch television or give them a bathe to to create a relaxing atmosphere to prepare them for bed time.
- 4). Massage your toddler It is proven that toddlers who are massaged have lower stress levels. Rub their feet, backs and arms right before bed.
- 5). Dim the lights or turn on a night light and leave. If they start to cry don't rush in there to see what the problem is. If you do this they will know they can get their way if they cry.
