3 top Benefits of Digital Photography!

There are a few purists these days who still work with film for their photographs, but in reality, everyone is turning to digital photography.  As a matter of fact, if you're looking to buy a new camera that still works with film, you may be out of luck.  But why is this; why have so many left the old days of film behind in order to go digital?  There are actually some very good reasons why digital photography is as popular as it is.  Let's discuss a few of these reasons here, and maybe that will convince you to enter the digital revolution like everyone else.

 Ease of Use

When you use film, once you take a picture, that's it - it's used up that frame on your roll of film.  If you want to take a lot of pictures, such as when you're on vacation or photographing an event, you may need to carry with you a ton of film to get all the shots you want.  However, with digital photography, you can check your pictures on your camera as you take them and if there's one you don't like, you can quickly erase it.  The storage on cameras for digital photography typically holds hundreds of pictures, and if this isn't enough you can always take a few more memory cards with you.  They obviously are much easier to cart around with you than rolls and rolls of film.

 Safety of Pictures

Is there any worse feeling than losing those precious pictures of your wedding, your baby, or something else just as important?  What's even worse is when you realize you've lost the negatives as well, or that they're so old they can't be developed again.  With digital photography, however, it's not to say that it's impossible for your photos or original files to be corrupted or lost, but the chances are much slimmer.  You can store the digital files on your computer, on a jump drive, a CD-ROM, or any other such device.  You're much more likely to be able to keep those photo files for a long time, possibly even forever!  If you ever do lose your photos, those original files are right there for you to run off again.  This is one of the great features of digital photography; being able to safeguard those precious photos for a long time.

Better Picture Quality

Digital photography just means better picture quality, there's no doubt about that.  With increased pixels or colors in every part of the photo, you are able to pick up more details in your photos than you would with normal film.  Colors are crisper and subjects are clearer.

So you see there are many reasons why people are making the switch to digital photography.  If you've been hesitant, it may be time to spread your wings and experiment with digital.  If you're concerned with your picture quality, with how easy it is to take those photos and with safeguarding them for years, you should definitely consider digital photography.
