• The 55 Bar is a small jazz club that offers two shows each night, usually by the same group. On weeknights the early show begins at 7 p.m., and the late show begins at 10 p.m. On weekends the early show begins at 6 p.m., and the late show begins at 9:30 p.m. There is always a cover, which is usually around $10, and there is a two-drink minimum. Because the club is small, it's easy for the 50-plus crowd to meet new people and have a conversation or just sit back and enjoy the show. • The Emerald Pub is a small Irish pub that attracts professionals for an after-work beer or cocktail and is a popular option for casual dates. The 50-plus crowd that visits the club favors the ambiance. Comfortable wood tables adorn the club, so there's no need to stand all night in a crowded room. The music caters more to the Baby Boomer crowd as well, with classic rock and Top 40 playing most nights. The Emerald Pub is open from 11:30 a.m. until 4 a.m. everyday.
