Etchings -- A Great Name for a Great Card Set
What a great name for a set of baseball cards ? ?Etchings? - eh?
I was lucky enough to rip through a randomly selected hobby box of 2004 Upper Deck Etchings and was pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of ?pulls? you are entitled to per box.
It seemed as if every other pack contained either a game-used card or an autographed card.
As a matter of fact, it did!
In our 10-pack box, which incidentally retails for about $100, we pulled five autographs and five game-used bat pieces with the best autograph being Dwight ?Doc? Gooden and the game-used bat being Nomar Garciaparra, which was serial-numbered to 50 copies.
On top of the game-used and autographed cards, we also pulled three serial-numbered rookie cards.
In our opinion, the $10 per pack price point is quite reasonable and gives the average collector quite a bang for their buck. In addition, the cards are simply gorgeous and, as always, the player selection is top-notch.
If you are into parallels, this product has all the trimmings (see insert breakdown and ratios below).
At $100 per box, you simply can?t go wrong with 2004 Upper Deck Etchings baseball.
