Pool Landscaping Trees
- For bright-green leaves and clusters of white flowers, evergreen sumac, also known as tobacco sumac, is a good native-tree choice. This tree reaches just 12 feet in height, and grows as a dense screen when several are planted close together, or you can grow a single specimen.
- The wax myrtle tree, also known as southern bayberry, works as a small, multitrunked tree growing 6 to 12 feet tall. Its foliage produces a spicy fragrance that makes it a good choice for poolsides. In the winter, it produces pale-blue berries, giving it year-round appeal.
- The desert ash, also known as the Arizona ash tree, thrives along pools in desert areas such as Southern California and the Southwest. This deciduous tree reaches no more than 40 feet in height.
