Christmas Candle Making Instructions That You Can Follow in an Hour!
We all know that everyone loves to get into the crafting spirit around the holidays, but sometimes it just seems like everyone expects us to be Martha Stewart.
Let's be honest; we don't all have 30 hours a day to dedicate to making our house beautiful for Christmas.
But what if you do want to make your own Christmas candles? Believe it or not, it does not have to take all day.
Here are some quick and easy Christmas candle making instructions for making a holiday wreath candle: 1.
Heat up some soy wax and a double boiler and put a candy thermometer in it to check the temperature.
Do not leave the room while the wax is heating! While it is getting warmed up, cut the top off of a soda can so that the top is completely straight; this will be a mold.
Now, lightly rub the inside with a little bit of vegetable oil, or you spray if you have it.
Even though the sides of the can seems smooth, your candle can get stuck! 2.
Once the wax has reached its proper temperature, add green candle die or green crayons and stir until the color is fully added, then bring back up 180°.
Once it is at that temperature, carefully pour it into the soda can and then drop your wick down so that is centered.
If you're not using a wick pin, use a pencil to hang the wick so that it will stay centered.
3.
Once the candle has cooled, remove it from the mold and you're ready to start decorating! Simply take a few sprigs of rosemary and rap some green ribbon around them, then tie the ribbon end to end around the candle so that it forms a wreath.
The last step of these Christmas candle making instructions is to put your new wreath candle on a plate, light it, and enjoy! As long as you use a fairly small wick and make sure that the wreath is all away at the bottom of the candle, the rosemary will not burn.
However, as always you should never leave the candle while it is burning just to be safe.
If you want to try something else, you can mix rosemary leaves into the wax itself after it is poured, or even before.
Just make sure that they aren't too close to the wick, or they can catch fire.
