    • 1). Cut the PVC to the correct lengths using a tape measure, hack saw and a bench vice to hold the PVC in place while cutting.

    • 2). Arrange the PVC pipes into a rectangle, using two 3-foot sections of PVC pipe with two 4-foot sections of PVC pipe.

    • 3). Connect the pipes together using two 90-degree connectors at the top of the rectangle and two three-way connectors at the bottom of the rectangle. The third prong of the three-way connectors must face the same direction. Use PVC glue to hold the pipes into the connectors.

    • 4). Connect the two remaining 4-foot sections of PVC pipe to the third opening of the three-way connector and glue into place.

    • 5). Place the remaining 3-foot section of PVC pipe between the 4-foot sections of PVC pipe from Step 4. Use 90-degree connectors and PVC to finish the base of the pitch back.

    • 6). Stretch the net over the rectangle section of the pitch back. The sports netting must have enough spring to send the ball back the pitcher, and have small holes of no more than 1 inch to avoid having the ball go through the net. The netting needs to overlap the frame by at least 2 to 3 inches on all sides. Cut off excess with scissors.

    • 7). Wrap the netting around PVC frame and hold in place with grip clamps. To provide extra support between clamps, tie the netting to small lengths of ropes or zip ties.

    • 8). Rest sandbags on the support beams of the pitch back to keep it from moving or falling over when in use.
