Warts are often considered unpleasant skin growths, mostly because of the highly infectious nature of warts.

Millions of people worldwide are infected by warts. What is the main cause of these common skin occurrences? Warts are caused by human papilloma virus or HPV. This virus is spreading through direct skin contact or even when sharing the same bath towel or slippers. Shockingly, but almost half of the human race are infected by human papilloma virus at one point in lives.

Why then most people seem to have no warts on their skin? The truth is that our bodies' natural immunity helps to protect us from this virus. In fact, in 90 out of 100 cases when people are infected with HPV, the virus is removed from the body by the body's natural resistance systems. In remaining 10 cases, only small percentage of people experience warts that have to be treated with wart remedies. Quite often warts go away themselves as body is fighting with the underlying virus and eliminates it.

The most important reason why people have to remove warts is because they are highly infectious. There are two ways to remove warts. One is to use medical wart removal methods, or apply wart removal home remedies.

While many medical wart removal methods work well, like freezing or cryosurgery, it is increasingly more popular, as well as considerably less costly; to apply wart removal home remedies.

The most popular is the apple cider vinegar method. It is very simple. Buy the bottle of the apple cider in any store, and then soak a small cotton ball in the liquid. Attach the soaked cotton ball to the wart with the medical tape or band aid. Leave it for few hours. Repeat the procedure every day until wart becomes white and in time gradually dries out. Be aware, that apple cider vinegar is still an acid substance and if left attached to the skin for too long, may cause skin burn. It is a good idea to dilute apple cider vinegar for the first applications and see how your skin reacts to it. While the vinegar works well for wart removal, it might hurt the surrounding skin.

If diluted vinegar does not leave any discomfort on surrounding skin, then apply more concentrated version of it.

How long does it take to remove warts using apple cider vinegar? It depends on the number of warts. Sometimes warts have grown in clusters and in these cases the removal will take much longer than just to remove a single wart. Also, depending on the location of the wart, the removal process will vary. For warts on feet, it will take much longer, mostly because the skin is thicker and it takes a longer time for the apple cider vinegar to penetrate the skin.

There are few other methods to remove warts at home using natural and ready available remedies.

Another option for wart removal at home is to use natural and ready made products. One example of such product is Dermatend. Do your research and find out does Dermatend work and see what other people say.

Before choosing any method, be sure to know how the each method or readymade wart removal works and pick the one that is most suitable for you.
