How to Unlock Siemens Mobile Phones in the UK
- 1). Find a mobile phone unlock site that sells codes. Sites that you might consider in the U.K. include Mobile Phones UK, Mobile Unlock or Fones Zone (see resources below for links). These sites will sell you codes that will unlock the SIM card on your Siemens phone for a fee, that as of 2010 is between $14.99 and $29.99.
- 2). Dial *#06# into your Siemens Mobile phone. This brings up your international mobile equipment identification number or IMEI, which is the serial number that your mobile service provider uses to identify your phone. The 15-digit number will appear on your screen. Write it down and save it for later.
- 3). Go to your chosen unlock site and type the IMEI into the appropriate box. Select Siemens as the make of your phone. Select the model from the drop-down menu. Choose "U.K." for your country, find your mobile network and click "Enter." Enter your credit card number and email address in the payment page. Click "Purchase."
- 4). Check your email in a couple of days to find your unlock codes.
- 5). Turn the power off on your Siemens phone and take out the battery. Then remove the SIM (subscriber identification module). This is the little white rectangular card that carries your data. Insert a SIM card from a different network, either by purchasing a prepaid card from a convenience store, or by borrowing one from a friend's phone. Put the battery back in and turn your phone on. Your phone will tell you that you are using the incorrect network and will ask you for an unlock code.
- 6). Enter the code that you purchased and click "OK." Your phone will beep and flash, then restart. When it comes back on you will see the logo for the new network at the top of the screen, indicating that you have unlocked your Siemens phone.
